The Schwank STR-JZ Infrared Shop Heater sets the comfort and safety standards for hobbyists, and delivers heating cost savings of up to 50% versus forced air systems. The STR-JZ couples our patented ceramic burner head with an efficient direct-drive blower located in line behind the burner. This system ensures a homogeneous gas-air mixture for optimum combustion efficiency and a long narrow flame, which is ideal for tube firing. Outside combustion air is ducted directly to the burner for safe sealed combustion in your shop.
The power burner forces heat down a special steel tube with emissive coating on the outside. The heated tube radiates comfortable high efficiency infrared heat energy. The unique Schwank Focus Shield Reflector mounted over the tube directs the infrared rays (like the rays of the sun) to the floor, equipment and the people below.
Depending on burner input rating, the technique provides low intensity radiant heat over a variety of tube lengths and configurations.
