What are Revit Models?

Revit models are 3D models that not only contain a scaled, physical representation of equipment, but also include all pertinent information required to incorporate this equipment into Building Information Models [BIM].  A designer can place a physical representation into their building model and the information associated with that model will automatically help complete schedules and determine utility requirements.  The models include features for architectural design, MEP and structural design and construction.

What are AutoCAD Models?

CAD is an image file format used by AutoCAD. AutoCAD was created by AutoDesk, and creates 2-D and 3-D designs. CAD files hold information for these images, as well as drafting information. CAD stands for Computer Aided Design.
